Not known to many, while Abundio Sr. and Lydia was in Bacolod, Artemio, who was then studying law at Silliman University, Dumaguete, Negros Oriental, courted Nelie, who was studying at San Carlos, Negros Oriental, about six to eight hours drive from Dumaguete then. After graduating from Bachelor of Laws and successfully taking the Bar Examination, Artemio, asked Nelie to marry him. Nelie and Artem got married. They settled in Kalibo, Aklan, where Artem later became the Provincial Fiscal. Poling, on the other hand, is about to graduate his law degree at Far Eastern University. While, Elpha was taking-up her masteral degree in Manila.

Just in case you didn't know, Artemio Arrieta was the first magna cum laude graduate in the College of Law, in Silliman. This was in 1941.
